HiFi’s Holiday Guide 2012
Michael Jackson
Bad 25 (Box Set)
Second best to Thriller (or third, if you think about the awesome cutting-edge disco of Off the Wall), Michael Jackson’s Bad gets the royal box set treatment in honor of its 25th anniversary. Those just wanted the music may settle for the remastered 2-disc collection, featuring unreleased demos, decent throwaway tracks and multi-language versions of “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You.” The 2012 mixes by Afrojack and Nero should be ignored entirely. For those wanting more royalty from the now-deceased King of Pop, the deluxe editions packs in CD/DVD combo of a pre-HD, but digitally remastered audio concert during a London stop on his international Bad tour. Ah, go ahead and get the bigger box and watch the King at work. Retail price: $39
