This month’s playlist focuses on a number of tracks featured on a collection of overlooked albums and late October album releases.
Vertical Horizon‘s new album shows the band pushing into different territory (evidenced on “Lovestruck”), Arcade Fire‘s brilliant follow-up to The Suburbs gives light to lite-disco (“We Exist”) and Katy Perry‘s new album reveals what should be her next best single (“Birthday”). There’s tons of other treats, including Cash Cash‘s EDM jam “Take Me Home,” Lana del Ray‘s popular club mix of “Summertime Sadness,” Paramore’s Top 40 hit “Still Into You” and the Lady Gaga/R Kelly duet “Do What U Want,” which seems to model the sound of Drake‘s “Hold On, We’re Going Home” (also featured).
