This Christmas
Have a Very Greasy Christmas. Greasy Holidays. Take your pick. This holiday disc unites the Grease pair once more for what is being called a charity disc. We understand why Travolta earned top billing, but clearly ONJ owns the spotlight. Despite the milky strings, Travolta’s voice – half Elvis, half talk-sing crooner – is hardly imaginative. “Baby It’s Cold Outside” proves to be perfect for his weaknesses, while “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” stands in desperate need of Grease’s background ensemble. At best, This Christmas is nothing more than a nostalgia disc.
