June ’13 playlist features new music from a host of Johns (Fogerty, Mayer, Legend), Fitz & the Tantrums, Queens of the Stone Age, Black Sabbath, Timmy Thomas and more.
This month, we decided to showcase a versatile set of everything new.
First, there’s a large dose of John’s in the mix, which includes John Legend and John Mayer. We also dropped a fresh composition off of John Fogerty‘s 2013 all-star set.
Soul legend Timmy Thomas, known for his 1971 hit “Why Can’t We Live Together,” is back with an acid jazz tune orchestrated by UK DJ Tom Gilde. And what a slice of “sweet heaven” it is. New music from Chrisette Michele, Mavis Staples, Fitz & the Tantrums, Queens of the Stone Age, State Cows, and a mighty Black Sabbath reunion (with Ozzy on deck) also makes the list.
And did you seriously think we would let another month pass by without acknowledging Robin Thicke‘s No. 1 hit?
black sabbath, chrisette michele, Cover Story, daft punk, fitz and the tantrums, jason isbell, john fogerty, john legend, john mayer, mavis staples, playlist, queens of the stone age, robin thicke, state cows, timmy thomas, tom glide
