11 forthcoming albums in 2013 we’re still anxious to get our hands on

Mark your calendars. These are the albums you’ve probably been anticipating and probably drooling over. We’ve done the homework for ya, so you have no excuse to fail.

Kings of Leon
Mechanical Bull

Release Date: September 24

The Followill bunch took a much needed hiatus after frontman Caleb Followill suffered a big meltdown on stage in 2011, right when they began touring for their breezy LP Come Around Sundown. Fans of the Leon were teased with Talihina Sky, a Stephen C. Mitchell-directed 87-minute documentary on their lives. But after Jared and Caleb Followill both settled down in their newly-christened lives of marriage, they’ve earned another serenity to ease into a good productive groove. Jimmy Fallon – being the music guru he is – announced on his show that KOL would be dropping a new album this fall, which perked up our ears. We’re hungry for something on the Richter scale of “Fans” and “Sex on Fire” and “Use Somebody.” Even a rehash of Come Down Sundown would be great. For now, “Super Soaker” – the first single to drop the upcoming album – will do.
