Adam Lambert Tops Forbes List of ‘American Idol’ Wealth in 2015
Adam Lambert comes out on financial tops on list of American Idol alums in 2015
In 2015, Adam Lambert proved that you don’t have to be an American Idol champion to come out looking like a winner.
Last year’s earnings for the out pop-rock singer exceeded the numbers of every single AI winner and contestant, even season 4 winner and country pop superstar Carrie Underwood, who Ryan Seacrest picked as the show’s “biggest star”.
According to Forbes magazine, Lambert, a season 8 runner-up, brought in over 10 million dollars — two million more than Underwood. Much of the income came from arena ticket sales attributed to his work with rock band Queen, his own shows and sales of his album The Original High.
With Underwood ranking No. 2 ($8 million), AI season 5 runner-up Chris Daughtry (of the band Daughtry) came in No. 3 ($6 million) and Phillip Phillips landed at No. 4 ($5 million). Scotty McCreery and Kelly Clarkson tied for No. 5, both earning $4 million.
This year marks the last season for the FOX hit talent showcase.
