Healthy return to classic Janet. Avoids musical tragedies of Jackson's most recent discographyCons:
"No Sleeepy" can be described, by some, as being...ummm...sleepy. For others, a bit too short in lengthJanet unites with longtime producers for 2015 slow jam

Back in 1997, Janet Jackson dropped “Go Deep.” Inside the lyrics read “we go deep and we don’t get no sleep.” Fast forward to 2015: The no-longer recluse Janet is back with a song that resurrects that lyric for an old-school Quiet Storm ballad that sounds like leftovers from the janet (1993) era. It’s slick, sultry and bleeds with the beats of neo-soul thunder. Think of it as an aroused Janet on Goodie Mob’s “Soul Food.” And there she is, whispering the notes like a sexy lullaby and barely stretching the vocal cords past the calm opening lines heard on “That’s the Way Love Goes.” To some, this will feel like a bore. But it’s a definite return to norm, a much suitable place than the avant-grade deranged hip-hop heard on her last two solo albums. Thanks to Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis’s production here, “No Sleeep” is a positive sign of what’s to come. And yes, Miss Jackson spelled the track title that way. She’s nasty like that.
