Yowsah, yowsah, yowsah: The Chic mastermind is now cancer free.

Awwww, freak out!

Nile Rodgers, producer, songwriter and killer guitarist (and that other guy on Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky,” made a big announcement on yesterday via Twitter. He got his results back from his recent check-up, and tweeted nothing but good news.

Rodgers, 60, created a diary-like blog (Walking on Planet C) on his website updating his fans and followers about his bout with prostate cancer and the long, enduring chapters of his rehabilitation. “On October 27, 2010, I found out I had aggressive cancer,” Rodgers wrote on his blog’s first post. “In an instant, everything in my happy-music universe imploded. It was like Jaws was savagely eating me from the inside out. My biopsy showed that I had to make some important decisions… fast.”

The good news for Rodgers continues to pour in with the recent announcement of his collaboration with EDM artists Avicii and David Guetta, and a returning trip to the studio with American Idol alum Adam Lambert. Rhino UK also released a highly-acclaimed double-disc collection of Chic’s best called Up All Night. Of course, the album is a cute reminder of Rodgers’ involvement on the summer song of the year.
