Love on Bottom: Solange Attacks Jay-Z, Removes Most Beyonce Pics from Instagram
Breach of privacy gives onlookers a better view of the escalating Solange vs. Knowles-Carter crisis
There has always been an cloud of mystery engulfing the lives of Beyoncé and her juggernaut husband rapper Jay-Z. But when video footage leaked surrounding a heated confrontation inside an elevator at NYC”s Standard Hotel this week, some of the veil was lifted. Inside the footage you could see the crumbling of the Knowles family structure as Solange Knowles, the baby sister of Beyoncé, broke out into an emotional fury on Jay-Z. Bey was also present. But she wasn’t defending her sister, nor was she trying to defend her Magna Carta Holy Grail hubby. There were security guards present for that.
The video, which lasted for three minutes, shows them entering the elevator together. And then Solange unleashes Chun Li-styled kicks and quick jabs to his face. Immediately the power couple’s security hit the emergency breaks on the elevator, hoping to buy some time and for the heat to cool down before exiting.
TMZ was present out doors to film Mr. and Mrs. Carter after they left the festivities at the Met Gala inside the hotel. Solange also makes the exit with her sister, entering into a black limo together. Hova decides to find another means of transportation by entering in one of the trailing SUVs. The gossip website had no idea of the altercation that happened inside until the video was leaked by hotel security.
Because of the security breach, hotel management issued the following statement:
“We are investigating with the utmost urgency the circumstances surrounding the situation and, as is our customary practice, will discipline and prosecute the individuals involved to our fullest capacity.”
Beyoncé and Jay-Z have been tight lipped about what actually transpired, but their most recent actions are giving us the assumption that there’s a lot of trouble brewing behind the scenes.
Bey went to Instagram and posted a camera shot of a published prayer that reads, “Help me to choose friends wisely so I won’t be led astray.”
Meanwhile, Solange is removing herself from everything Bey. By Tuesday afternoon, Jezebel pointed out that only one photo of Beyoncé remained on her Instagram wall — a throw-back pic showing the two sisters posing next to music video director Melina Matsoukas. Followers of Solange quickly caught on to her game, pointing out using social media humor that one picture of Bey remained. “You forgot to delete this,” one cheeky commenter wrote. “This is the only picture remaining of Beyoncé,” another person posted.
According to a reliable source close to Bey, this isn’t the first time Solange has released her rage on the Bonnie and Clyde of music. “That’s why Bey and Jay were so calm,” they said. “They are used to this from Solange. It has definitely happened before.”
The power couple are set to go on tour together this summer. Tickets are selling out in record numbers for the ‘On the Run’ tour, especially since the Solange meltdown. We have also earned confirmation that more dates have been added to the tour. The ‘On the Run’ tour kicks off in Miami, Florida on June 25 at the Sun Life Stadium and will include appearances at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California (August 3) and San Francisco’s AT&T Park (August 6).
UPDATE:
Meanwhile, Wendy Williams jumps into the mayhem by exploring all options as to the duo’s Roca-relationship. Alluding to Sherri Shepherd’s marital problems, the talk show queen even gets a quick laugh by saying “Sherri Shepherd is so happy that this story happened…She is somewhere saying, ‘Thank God for Solange.'”
