The Roots, Booker T rocks to Lauryn Hill’s “Everything Is Everything”

After much success with John Legend on the collaborative ’70’s soul tribute Wake Up!, Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson and the Roots are continuing to stoke the fire with legendary Stax Records organist Booker T. Jones – the captain of the hit-making M.G.’s. The two worlds come together on a very soulful Stax-sounding instrumental of Lauryn Hill’s “Everything Is Everything;” taken from the best-selling 1998 debut, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.

Jones’ forthcoming disc, the second on the Anti- label is entitled The Road From Memphis and will feature collaborations with Lou Reed, Sharon Jones, Yim Yames from My Morning Jacket and Matt Berninger of the National.
