Sting walks on the set of Jimmy Fallon’s late show for one heck of a throwback

You never know what to expect on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

The late night show, snugged on the far backs of weeknight programming, usually offers some rare performances from the living legends. Goodness gracious, rock royalty even sneaks in just to play alongside the house band The Roots. And those unique experiences hardly disappoint.

Well, audience members were seriously surprised when Sting showed up on the set and rendered an impromptu performance of “Walking on the Moon”…of course, with Fallon’s fast-learning, bad-ass versatile house band. Ahmir “?uestlove” Thompson’s knowledge of the rock enyclopedia has been tested numerous times, but they successfully attach a New Orleans jazz twist atop The Police’s ska version. The sign of approval: Sting looks like he’s having so much fun.

The performance was never aired. So consider this a backstage pass into the world of being an audience member.
