Jessie J: Domino
“Domino” sounds like everything else in today’s pop; it’s still enough to beef up Jessie J’s credibility
Parading around rock guitar strumming and flirty “woo-woo-woos,” Jessie J finally confronts a smart disco pop single with the appetite for Top 40. Unlike her R&B-reggae-feeling single “Price Tag,” “Domino” sounds like a breezy Katy Perry track. That’s not a big surprise since Dr. Luke (Britney Spears, Ke$ha, Katy Perry) produces and co-writes the track. What is a surprise: Knowing the single wasn’t featured on her 2011 debut album. Although the quirky comparisons with Perry and all the other gurl divas with their interchangeable pop songs are going wax heavily on Jessie J’s musicality as the single makes its bounds on pop radio, “Domino” is definitely a positive step in the right direction. It’ll just make it harder to distinguish her from the rest of the pack.

What are you talking about? It IS a big surprise actually considering Dr Luke also wrote and produced Price Tag for Jessie J – which sounds nothing at all like Katy Perry.
Having said that ‘Domino’ is Dr Luke’s best song and infinitely better than anmything Katy Perry has produced so far.
