Britney Spears: Till the World Ends
The fingerprints of Ke$ha, Max Martin and Dr. Luke are all over Brit’s best dance track (so far)
Listen carefully to Britney Spears on her latest single, “Till the World Ends,” and you can trace all things back to Ke$ha’s “We R Who We R” and “Blow.” Although the song was co-written by Dr. Luke and Max Martin, Kesha’s songwriting is all over this one, except for the Auto-tune gimmicks and her fancy rap-rhyme signature, like this one: “You don’t wanna mess with us/Got Jesus on my neck-a-lace, us, us.” The pop princess probably would’ve fell face first on Ke$ha’s fast lines, but the charm of “Till the World Ends,” followed by Spears’ indulgence of Madonna purrs, sits comfortably in the regimen of the synthpop party. The “oh-oh-oh” arena chant, Eurodisco synths and hypnotic club percussions are the perfect elements for Spears’ to regain her dancefloor domination. Although the song feels as if it would lose its uniqueness if mushed in between Enrique Iglesias’s “Tonight (I’m Lovin’ You” and P!nk’s “Raise Your Glass,” Queen Britney exceeds in delivering her most heartiest and most accessible uptempo dance track since “Stronger.” Luckily for Spears, this one is far more memorable.
