Waka Flocka Flame Surrenders to Police on Gun and Drug Charges
Waka Flocka Flame turns himself in to authorities on gun and drug charges; Gucci Mane also in custody
Rising rap star Waka Flocka Flame turned himself in to Wayne County authorities on Monday, after charges were made against the rapper on gun and drug charges.
According to the Associated Press, he faces charges of marijuana possession and a controlled substance, possessing of a firearm by a convicted felon and possessing a firearm during a crime. Added to it, he is also being charged with breaking the state’s anti-gang laws and violating probation for driving on a suspended license.
Flame was on probation for a charge of possession of a sawed-off shotgun, according to reports.
HiFi previously reported in December that Waka Flocka Flame’s Atlanta, Ga. home was being raided. Gucci Mane, Flame’s mentor, was also arrested during the raid and will also be serving time; 17 months for violating his probation. Smells like it’s been a wacky start in 2011 for the “No Hands” artist.
On Dec. 18, his song “No Hands,” featuring Roscoe Dash & Wale sat at #3 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and sat at #1 for two weeks on Billboard’s Rap Songs survey.
