Source: Axl and Slash to Reunite With Guns ‘n Roses at Coachella 2016
Appetite for construction: core members of ’80’s hard rock band rumored to be uniting for 2016
Welcome back to the jungle, folks.
According to multiple sources, the hard rock band Guns ‘n Roses will be headlining Coachella Music & Arts Festival 2016 and will be showing off prominent members of its original lineup. That includes Axl Rose and Slash.
Remember Coachella is now sprawled out across double weekends, duplicating the same lineup, so the band will be performing twice. Coachella’s dates are set for April 15-17 and April 22-24. For those who can’t make those weekends (sure to sell out in hours), there’s sweet relief. The band is currently in negotiation with concert promoters to play as many as twenty-five football stadiums in North America during the summer of 2016, and is expected to be one of the first acts to play the brand new Las Vegas Arena, set to open April 6. Price tag is expected to reach $250-$275 a pop, with Guns N’ Roses demanding $3 million to play each show.
The last time Axl Rose and Slash played together with Guns ‘n Roses dates all the way back to July 17, 1993 at River Plate Stadium in Buenos Aires. We’re not exactly sure what the rest of the Guns ‘n Roses lineup will look like, but hey, sweet child o mine — time will reveal all things.
Reps for the band, Coachella planners and other concert promoters are not commenting on the news, but the cat is now out the bag.
