Amy Winehouse Booed Off Stage During Serbia Show, Management Cancels Tour
‘Rehab’ singer runs into more trouble after being booed off stage by fans
Not good news in the world of Amy Winehouse.
After appearing on Quincy Jones’ Q: Bosa Nostra tribute disc singing “It’s My Party” and paparazzi pictures surfacing of a healthy-looking Amy Winehouse in recent weeks, Amy Winehouse seemed to be on the edge of a career breakthrough. But all of those praise reports have been tossed aside after Winehouse bombed on stage during a performance in Serbia on Saturday. The singer was booed off stage after flubbing over her own lyrics and acting strange by “yelling at her band” and “leaving long gaps of silence during numbers.” (Source: Los Angeles Times)
Winehouse is reported to have entered rehab weeks before her 12-date European tour kicked off, but the onstage disaster leaves many to speculate if Winehouse needs additional treatment.
So far, Winehouse’s management has ordered that the tour be postponed indefinitely, canceling dates in Istanbul and Athens. “Everyone involved wishes to do everything they can to help her return to her best and she will be given as long as it takes for this to happen,” spokesman Chris Goodman said in a statement that called off the remainder of the tour. No word from her folks if drugs or alcohol abuse was partially to blame during the Serbian gig.
