Fantasia Admits to Aborting Married Lover’s Baby
Troubled R&B singer admits to abortion with married man during the time of her failed suicide attempt
While on the road to redemption, American Idol winner Fantasia Barrino opens up the drama chest once again for yet another low-blow towards her career.
The R&B singer took the witness stand yesterday (Nov. 22) in a court case involving Paula Cook – the wife of Fantasia’s alleged boyfriend Antwaun Cook and unveiled that she did know Mr. Cook was married when she entered a relationship with him and also confessed that that she aborted their love child around the time of her failed suicide attempt.
Mrs. Cook is now in divorce court and is suing both Antwaun Cook and Barrino for her failed marriage, alleging that the two engaged in a year-long affair in which her husband enjoyed “the lavish benefits associated with the high-profile relationship.” Mrs. Cook is reportedly considering suing Barrino by the Alienation of Affection law; which is allowed in a handful of states including North Carolina.
Meanwhile, Fantasia’s manager has not commented on the case.
While cloudy days are once again expected to loom over her present forecast, Fantasia is once again touring; promoting her latest album Back to Me. Eric Benet is scheduled as her opening act for most of her tour dates. Her latest single, “I’m Doin’ Me,” climbed to #22 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Her first single “Bittersweet” did manage to crack the Billboard Hot 100; peaking at #74.
