Ohio State Marching Band Shows Off Amazing Michael Jackson Tribute
OSU whips out one “BAD’ halftime show performance
There have been many tributes to the King of Pop, but none has mesmerizing as this.
That’s because the Ohio State Marching Band, who has recently wowed crowds with their dazzling technical formations and epic tributes to the magical world of Disney and the good vibrations of the Beach Boys, creates the ultimate MJ-tribute halftime show spectacular, worthy enough of its own Cirque Du Soleil marquee.
This past weekend, the band showed off their impressive gridiron moves as they journeyed through Michael Jackson‘s big hits, including “The Way You Make me Feel,” “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’,” “Billie Jean,” “Man in the Mirror” and, of course, “Bad.” As “Bad” plays out, the band announcer mentions the 25th anniversary of the landmark album, the follow-up to the best-selling album Thriller. Right when that happens, the marching band spells out “Bad” before the crowd’s very eyes. But the most magical moment happens as the band shows off a silhouette of the white glove-wearing entertainer…with the sparkly white glove in tow.
And that’s not all. Jackson, made up of those instrument-toting college students, starts to move and then he moonwalks across the field.
OSU won their game that day over Iowa State, but the marching band proved to be the real champs on the field.
The video, posted on OSU’s official YouTube account, has already racked up over 4.8 million views.
