Prince Shows Up On ‘The View’ As Surprise Guest

Now you see it, now you don’t: Prince makes a pop-up appearance on “The View”

We all know that a sighting of Prince in the public is like witnessing a meteor shower from Earth. Well, the Purple One gazed upon the set of ABC’s ‘The View’ during the ‘Hot Topics’ segment and had the audience cheering like they were being teased with a third installment of Oprah’s ‘My Favorite Things’. He was there  to plug his tour and to hand out tickets to the show’s hosts for his Madison Square Garden concerts (Dec 18th, 29th, January 18th). And like a meteor shower sighting, his visit wasn’t long.

Barbara Walters did manage to squeeze in a quick word, when she referenced her “10 Most Fascinating People” 2-hour special (which airs tonight) and mentioned Justin Bieber looking up to Prince as an artist with longevity. Prince was moved by the young chap’s comment and offered a little bit of advice – pick up an instrument and go.

Co-host Sherri Shepherd, always flabergated by hot hunks, asked Prince to say, “Sherri, I love you.” If that wasn’t enough, her hot flash moment came back when she asked the Purple One if she could have his leather gloves. He gently passed them to her. But that wasn’t enough…

Shepherd blurted out her deepest, most intimate thoughts about the superstar: “You don’t understand, I have always wanted to make love to you for my whole life. I’m sorry.”

Prince’s last words were: “On that note.” And then, like a meteor shower sighting, he left.

Details on Prince’s statewide “Welcome 2 America Tour” begins this December and will feature special guest appearances from Maceo Parker, Mint Condition, Sinbad, Lalah Hathaway, Shelia E., Graham Central Station, Cassandra Wilson, Grammy nominee Esparanza Spaulding and Janelle Monáe.
