T.I. track puts OutKast back in the hot seat – literally

Well, you can now scratch that dream reunion of OutKast off the list. At least for the time being.

On the same day Big Boi dropped a viral track called “In the A,” T.I. dropped the newly-unveiled track “Sorry,” which sports a guest appearance from his rap partner, André 3000. “This the type of shit that’ll make you call your rap partner/And say I’m sorry I’m awkward, my fault for fuckin’ up the tours,” André raps awkwardly apologizing for some of the trying times. He even sings in between some quickly rapped lines about how he “don’t even like rapping fast.” But it’s quite obvious the OutKast emcee easily steals the show, pulling off rapid blasts using his quirky, animated style that makes the song’s first half feel out of place. If it wasn’t for hookwoman Stacy Barthe singing the delicate r&b chorus, Tip would’ve been totally upstaged.

Despite going on a media blitz speaking of an eventual retirement, T.I.’s new album, Trouble Man: Heavy Is the Head, drops December 18.
