George Michael in Hospital, Suffering from Head Injuries from Car Crash
‘Careless Whisper’ singer lays in London hospital after serious car accident
Reports from the BBC are indicating that former Wham! singer and international pop star George Michael was involved in a serious car crash on the M1 near junction 6A in Hertfordshire last Thursday.
The pop star was airlifted to a specialist trauma center in London for treatment to head injuries after the incident.
Katharine Fox, 23, rushed to his side where she witnessed a pool of blood around him. She was not aware at the time that she was tending to a superstar.
She described how she was on her way home from work, when the traffic in front of her started to slow down. “I was driving in the third lane of the motorway and had to slam my brakes on and go between the third and fourth lane,” she said. “At that point I looked back and saw a body lying in the road so I stopped my car because no-one except the car behind me had stopped.”
She then reversed her vehicle to shield both her and Michael and went into “caring mode.” He was later airlifted to the hospital and still remains in treatment, according to his agent.
She also described the scene as being quite bloody. In her words, “blood was everywhere.” Still, she admits that Michael was conscious. “He had a deep cut above his left eyebrow which was really bleeding down his face into his teeth,” she said.
