“Stay With Me” singer enters groupie mode when Fifth Harmony is mentioned, as seen in episode of Carpool Karaoke
Brit pop and soul crooner Sam Smith was the featured artist in the latest edition of James Corden‘s Carpool Karaoke.
But you couldn’t tell it when Fifth Harmony surprisingly entered the backseat of the vehicle.
Smith, who is celebrating a new album (The Thrill Of It All) and recently announced he was gender-fluid, swayed and harmonized with Corden to a set of his familiar tunes, including “Stay With Me,” “Money on My Mind” and “I’m Not The Only One,” and even talked about what his dream wedding would be like. Heartfelt moment ensues, and lots of laughter about how Smith’s amazing weight loss. “I’m gonna keep my weight down for another ten years and then I wanna just live in kaftans,” the multi-Grammy-award winner asserts.
By the time the Late Late Show talk show host asked Smith about his infatuation with the female pop group Fifth Harmony, it became apparent that he had to shift things a little. Suddenly, Fifth Harmony jumps into the vehicle’s back seat and begins a massive singalong of their colossal Top 40 hit “Work From Home.”
You just have to see it to believe it. And feel free to sing along.
Or just fast forward to 10:46 when Fifth Harmony is first mentioned and to see his “oh-mah-goodness” meltdown.
