Rihanna Adds Alabama Stop on ‘Loud’ Tour for Tornado Relief, Cee Lo Green Bows Out
Rihanna is bringing her ‘S&M’ show to the Magic City, but for a worthy cause. Cee Lo is bowing out from his opening spot on ‘Loud’ tour
Tornado relief continues to pour in for those affected by the April 27 tornadoes that swept through the Southern states, particularly in Alabama. The next star on board to raise awareness for tornado relief is…..Rihanna.
The pop/R&B star, best known for her hits “Umbrella,” “Rude Boy” and “What’s My Name,” posted the following on her @Rihanna Twitter account
“I just added an ALABAMA TOUR DATE TO LOUD TOUR…Monday, July 11th!!! This Concert Will Benefit Tornado Relief Efforts”
The confirmed concert will be held at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Center.
The concert, titled “Tragedy to Triumph” will benefit the rebuilding efforts in Birmingham and Tuscaloosa. Tickets to the concert will be $15 and $49. The added tour date will take place prior to a tour spot in Atlanta, Ga. at Chastain Park.
On the tough side of things, Billboard announced that Cee-lo Green will no longer serve as her opener act at upcoming shows. Reasons for his abandonment stems from his prior engagements attached to his role on NBC’s hit show ‘The Voice’, along with working on his next album and a forthcoming book.
A statement from Green’s publicist read:
“He always puts 100 percent into his work and with the requirements and time commitment to ‘The Voice,’ on top of heading back into the recording studio and an upcoming book.He feels that he wouldn’t give his fans the show that they deserve.”
J. Cole and B.o.B.are still on board for Rihanna’s Loud tour.
