Once again, Trey Songz unmasks and undresses for some over-acted lamenting in lovers’ remorse video.
Trey preys are hungry for more body shots and sexual healing. And while “Can’t Be Friends” focuses on a more mature topic about friends becoming lovers way too soon (a plus for the “I Invented Sex” champion), the video – done with back-and-forth combinations of monochrome and color photography – focuses on Songz’ daydreaming of love, passion and pleasure. He’s a bit angrier this time around; throwing occasional temper tantrums and balling up his fists in rage. While listening to the lyrics, we can understand his frustrations. And the ladies (and even some gents) are happy about the outbursts. But things would have come off a bit more believable if Trey Songz hadn’t put so much emphasis on the WWE-designed acting.
