Maroon 5 Leads Adult Pop Chart
With “Misery,” Maroon 5 secures top spot with the most weekly plays at Adult Pop radio.
Great news for Maroon 5.
Even with the good news surfacing over their #2 rank on the Billboard 200 with the new album release Hands All Over, Maroon 5 is the dominant leader on the Adult Pop Songs radio airplay chart. After spending three weeks at #1 with the album lead single “Misery” (4,273 plays on 91 adult pop radio stations; average of 47 plays per station), the pop/rock L.A.-based band has trumped the record for Lady Antebellum’s “Need You Now” (4,129 plays). The group’s 2004 hit “This Love” (coming in at fifth place – gauging 4,001 plays) and “She Will Be Loved” also made the list’s best-ever plays.
Another 2010 contribution made the list of the most weekly plays at Adult Pop: Katy Perry’s” California Gurls” comes in at third place.
Currently, the Goo Goo Dolls are celebrating their 14th Top 10 on the Adult Pop survey with “Name.” John Mayer, matchbox twenty, Nickleback and Sheryl Crow hold the highest number of Top 10s.
